Famous Brazilian director Walter Salles gets the first official cartoon of Project Gabucha |

Utrecht, 8 May 2009 - During the 5th International Latin American Film Festival, Walter Salles, director of world renowned movies Central de Brasil and The Motorcycle Diaries, did receive the first official cartoon of the little brave girl Gabucha presented by Maria Gabriela Fuentes (Foundation Ombú). Thus, the Dutch Foundation Ombú, launched their new Project Gabucha. Every year this Project will support a few organizations who help poor children in the slums of South America to increase their opportunities for a better life. |

Hilversum/Netherlands - On the 18th of may for the third time Dutch local politicians, students, teachers and two members of the board of Hogeschool Utrecht (University of Social Practical Work Utrecht), journalists and other citizens of Hilversum biked 80 km from the coast of Holland (Noordwijk) to Hilversum. The sponsor tour has been organised by the Dutch Organisation Ombú. The tour has been accomplished by a representative of the Argentinean Embassy of Argentina in The Hague.

Twice a year we visit projects of nonprofit organizations in the slums of among others Buenos Aires, Bahia Blanca and Cordoba, Argentina. We select interesting projects from Argentinean organizations, which are aimed at improving social circumstances of people living in economical and social deprivation. We look whether if we can financially support concrete questions being part of a project.
